The police officer academy in Georgia doesn’t just allow anyone to enroll into the basic academy. In fact, if you have any felony convictions, are out of shape, or have poor communication skills, you won’t make the cut.

Below are some general requirements and qualifications that you must meet in order to successfully enroll into the Georgia law enforcement training academy.

  • 21 years of age
  • High School graduate or GED
  • Valid Georgia or South Carolina Driver’s License
  • Excellent Driving Record
  • No Felony Convictions
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Good Physical and Mental Health
  • Associate Degree preferred
  • Prior Law Enforcement experience preferred.

    You do not have to be 21 to enter a Basic Law Enforcement Academy in Georgia, the requirement is 18. As I am currently in Basic Mandate and only 20.

    i have a question i got a speeding ticket at 17 i was going 73 in either a 50 or 55 would i still be able to be a police officer in the state of georgia? im currently in the military and it wasnt a huge problem
